The Jersey Shore Chamber of Commerce offers so many opportunities – from referrals to networking to events where we can share our knowledge and educate other business owners about what we can bring to the table. I also appreciate the variety of events – weekly breakfasts, evening happy hours, lunches, and big signature events. This variety makes it so easy for busy business owners to pop in and participate when it’s convenient. The chamber also shares our posts on social media as a part of the membership, which is an easy and effective way to increase awareness.
You definitely get out of the chamber what you put into it. Put in the time and effort, and you’ll get even more out of it. When I was a newer member, the chamber leadership suggested ways for me to get involved and volunteer. Working on committees like the Women’s Conference, Golf Outing, or BizExpo is such a great way to get to know people one-on-one and grow my business.
Most important of all, the chamber is welcoming. The office staff is always helpful and responsive to my calls. When I go to an event, it never feels cliquey; I feel more like I’m meeting up with friends. I often say that if I’m having a bad day at work, I’ll make myself go to a chamber event. I always leave feeling better about everything. It really lifts my spirits to be surrounded by others who may be going through the same things in their businesses. We can commiserate and share our struggles openly and honestly – it’s almost like free counseling. Seriously, the camaraderie at the chamber fills up my tank and gives me the motivation to succeed. They’re a wonderful group!
